In the Black

I spent today making this nuno scarf: It is a gift.

I am still amazed at how much these shrink in the making - this one started out as nearly 70 inches long and shrunk 20, in addition to 6 inches of shrinkage on the sides.

Making one of these is really a work out. I think I'll need to let my shoulders recoup before my next one!

Oh I'm glad you get the feel of it. I am really pleased with how it's turned out - very light, soft, sheer in places and multi-textural.

I think you've got a knack for black and white - this is SO striking! Would love to try my hands at nuno-ing one of these days and this piece just nudges me onward some more. Lucky recipient ;>}

Thank you! When the wool finally adheres to the fabric, shrinking it and creating texture - that is worth all the effort.

Your nuno scarves will make beautiful gifts. (I know what you mean about the work these take, though!!) Happy Holidays to you and yours!!
