Constellating

I decided to focus largely on indigo stars today and this is a close up of my favourite dip of the day: A few more:

And not all the experiments worked out - here is one I folded, stitched and tied, hoping for multiple stars shaped like the thread ones.

After dipping into indigo here is what I got:

Still a lovely pattern - and now you know the stars are there, too, but obscured by clouds :)

This last one is another stitched shibori.

you are doing incredible work here!
and looking at them, i realized
my resistence to shibori etc
work with the Indigo dye...it's
that the patterns created are just
so FINE, in and of themselves. i
would never be able to Cut one
and i also do not need them whole..
just want/need very small pieces
for the collage work...
so, not only did i enjoy the beauty here, but had that moment
of realization....
love,

I'm loving these indigo pieces. So beautiful - every single one. Even 'mistakes' can look glorious with fabric!

Deanna - yes, but I dream in blue :)

Grace - thank you and I think if I put alot of effort into a piece of shibori and it turns out well, then I might want to keep it whole and it could be part of a bag or clothing or a pillow or even just hang on its own. But many of these can also join into a larger piece and I do cut them when a piece I am putting together to stitch calls for it.

Marie - thank you and this mistake was a lucky one.

Mary Helen - glad you like them!

Martine - the pushing into the blue is the fun part - all the possible variety. And thankyou!
