Immersed and Suspended

When I prepared the fabrics, I decided to put some in a bucket covered with cheesecloth so that as the snow melted, the fabric would not sit in the liquid. One bonus of this was the dyed cheesecloth! The results from the bucket without cheesecloth were not really different and just as pleasing - more linen:

I was up preparing more snow dyeing first thing this morning - a surprise to anticipate!

all turned out great but that silk velvet is gorgeous. never enough snow here to try it.

Thanks, Robbie - yes it sure is!

Deanna, I agree about the silk velvet. It is so satisfyingly rich. I've already cut into it! This is the first time I've tried snow dyeing as we usually don't have snow, either!

I was just thinking after seeing the weather news about Victoria's snow, that *i* had better get some done before we get our final Chinook here---these are awesome and so inspiring! What awesome additions to your stash!

Oh - a chinook! How I used to love when they happened - such a relief from the cold! This was my first time snow dyeing but I bet you're an ace!
