When I arrived at the Victoria Quilt Guild Show this past weekend, I could hardly believe my eyes! Yes, it's fabric, not paint.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the multitude of quilts and I was struck by just how much heart goes into their making -
and how I love their softness. I felt so refreshed afterwards that I could imagine I might make a traditional bed quilt sometime in the future. I especially loved the hand pieced and hand quilted ones, but there were many other kinds of beauties, as well.
Since I am primarily felting these days, I decided I'd use silk I've dyed, in a traditional design,
to nuno felt. Lots of one inch pieces and a bit tricky...
But it worked and opens a door to further exploration.

oh wow, great explorations!! And obviously lots of inspiration at the quilt show! Have fun exploring and can't wait to see what further exciting things you come up with!
A most successful experiment. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. you seem to have no limits.
Marny - I was glad all those pieces adhered! I think these smaller explorations really contribute to future work and open doors to what's possible.
Lesley - once I have an idea and feel curious, I just have to find out... There's a song called 'No Limits' that I used to enjoy - a good attitude to keep learning and growing!
love the felted patchwork!
Jude - it was interesting to combine traditional with a different method.
